Managing A Player's Balance

Ultimate Sports Book Manager allows you to manage a player's balance many different ways. At the end of a week, you can run a Balance Summary report and mark all wagers as paid in full so you can start fresh, or you can keep a running balance, and credit a player's account when you receive their payment. This page discusses the latter.

Let's take the following example:

To start, you must allow payments to be made that exceed the balance due. To do this, check the "Allow Payments That Exceed Balance Due" box on the Manager Maintenance screen.

Manager's Billing Cycle:
Tuesday - Monday (
Manager reviews the week's action after Monday's games have been graded.)

Week 1: Tuesday 9/5 - Monday 9/11:

Date Player Wager Result
9/5 Pete Rose Won $100
9/6 Pete Rose Won $100
9/6 Pete Rose Lost $500
9/11 Pete Rose Lost $200
Week Ending Balance Pete Lost $500

Week 2: Tuesday 9/12 - Monday 9/18:

Date Player Wager Result
9/12 Pete Rose Won $200
9/12 Pete Rose Won $700

9/13

Manager receives the $500 payment from the prior week. Upon entering the Payouts screen, Pete's new balance indicates he's to receive $400. It's $400 because last week's balance hasn't been settled yet, and he's ahead (so far) this week. To settle last week's balance, click the "Adjust Debits/Credits" button, and enter the $500 received from Pete as an Adjustment, and indicate the amount is owed to the Player (click Save when done). This will generate a player credit, and bring the balance to $900 -- where it should be.

9/14 Pete Rose Lost $700
9/15 Pete Rose Lost $800
Week Ending Balance

Pete Lost $600

Week 3: Tuesday 9/19 - Monday 9/25:

Date Player Wager Result
9/19 Pete Rose Won $400
9/19 Pete Rose Won $700

9/20

Manager receives the $600 payment from the prior week. Upon entering the Payouts screen, Pete's new balance indicates he's to receive $500. It's $500 because last week's balance hasn't been settled yet, and he's ahead (so far) this week. To settle last week's balance, click the "Adjust Debits/Credits" button, and enter the $600 received from Pete as an Adjustment, and indicate the amount is owed to the Player. DO NOT change the Original credit amount. (click Save when done). This will generate a player credit and bring the balance to $1100 -- where it should be.

Manager receives the $500 payment from the prior week. Upon entering the Payouts screen, Pete's new balance indicates he owes $700 ($500 from last week plus $200 for this week). A Debit/Credit adjustment isn't necessary. Just indicate the "Amount Paid To Manager" as $500. This will bring Pete's balance to $200.

In Summary...

1) If a payment is received for a prior week, and the player is ahead for the current week, adjust the player's credit by the payment that was received.

2) If a payment is received for a prior week, and the player is behind for the current week, enter the payment amount into the "Amount Paid To Manager" field.

3) If a player is ahead at the end of the week, pay him and set the "Amount Paid To Player" as Paid In Full.
